Amy M. Moeckel

Research Physiologist

Education
M. S. University of Massachusetts, Amherst, 2001
B. S. University of Vermont, Burlington, 1988

Research Interests
1. Physiological and ecological aspects of Atlantic salmon life history especially as related to population reintroduction and recovery efforts in the Northeastern US.

2. Smolt development, migration and timing and how environmental pollutants affect these processes.

3. Some methods employed to evaluate physiologic parameters include ELISA, RIA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blotting, and immunocytochemistry. Annual smolt migration patterns are examined using (Passive Integrated Transponders) PIT tag system set up in Southern Vermont tributary.
