Title: Fisheries Technician

Education:
2005 - Associates Degree, Environmental Science, Unity College

Research Interests:
I started at the Conte Lab as a technician for the Ecology Section in the fall of 2000. That is where I got my start working with Todd Dubreuil on PIT tag antenna systems. I moved on in the spring of 2001 to work as Gregg Horton’s tech helping with his field work for his Ph. D. project. I worked with both Todd and Gregg at that time to help develop in-stream antenna systems to monitor in-stream movement and smolt migration of Atlantic salmon. In the fall of 2003, I moved on to Unity College to further my education, but stayed active with the Conte lab helping with samples and working with Todd on new antenna technology. I was lucky to return to the Lab in early 2007 to the position that I’m in today. I have a passion for the outdoors and love working with brook trout. I’m interested in small stream movement of brook trout, working with PIT Tag technology to improve and develop systems to monitor movement on salmonids and other species and interactions of predators with salmonids in small stream systems, predator / prey relations. I hope to do more radio tracking of fish and mammals in the future. Someday I would like to incorporate more work with mammal impacts on small stream salmonids, like predator / prey and beaver dam fragmentation.
