2007 - B.A., Environmental Studies, Washington CollegeResearch Interests:
Generally I am interested in research that helps to promote the integrity of aquatic ecosystems. While I find marine ecosystems fascinating, I tend to lean more toward freshwater systems in both my professional and recreational lives. This broad sense of responsibility towards 3% of the earth’s water supply comes partially from growing up surrounded by freshwater streams and spending my undergrad days a member of a collegiate crew team, and mostly from the fact that freshwater is one of the world’s most valuable resources and the health of its ecosystems needs to be a priority. Currently I am a part of Paul’s study on how “fragmentation of stream networks effects fish movement within headwater streams of the Connecticut River basin.” This involves genetics and radio telemetry, two things I am super excited to learn.
